Lares trek to Machu Picchu tour is an additional alternative to visit Machu Picchu, a unique inca trail through the Andes, surrounded by incredible landscapes, lagoons, mountains, animals, etc. That will make you live a fantastic experience, let yourself be carried away by this great adventure and conquer the Andes.
TOUR LARES TREK TO MACHU PICCHU
DAY 1: CUSCO – PUMAHUANCA – PUYOC
The adventure will begin through the Pumahuanca town and arriving in Puyoc. This day you will observe typical mammals such as the Andean fox and the vizcacha.
DAY 2: PUYOC – YANACOCHA – CUNCANI
This day you will have a light walk, you will pass near mountains and lakes until you reach Cuncani, there you will learn about the daily life and traditions of the villagers.
DAY 3: CUNCANI – LARES
This day will be special, in it you will visit the Lares hot springs in the Lares Valley, and later board the train in Ollantaytambo towards Aguas Calientes, prior to the great visit the next day
DAY 4: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
This is the most anticipated day. You will visit the wonder of the world Machu Picchu. In a tourist bus you will ascend to the citadel and there you will have a 2-hour guided tour through the most important places. At the end you will return to Aguas Calientes for lunch and in the afternoon you will board the train back to Ollantaytambo from where our representative will take you to your hotel.

DAY 1: CUSCO – PUMAHUANCA – PUYOC
In the morning, our transport will pass for your hotel to begin this incredible journey, you will pass through the Pumahuanca town towards the Puyoc town.
Our route is one of the most exclusive, used by very few travelers, that’s why you can enjoy an experience in full tranquility and peace.
On this route, you will see Andean region characteristic animals such as the Andean Fox and the Vizcacha.
Finally, you will arrive at the town of Puyoc, where you will have a delicious dinner. That night will be one of the coldes

DAY 2: PUYOC – YANACOCHA – CUNCANI
After a delicious breakfast will begin the walk that will be lighter, descend to Cuncani.
On the way, you will pass near snowy mountains and lagoons such as the Yanacocha lagoon.
You will reach a completely different town from the previous one, in which it emphasizes that most of its clothes are red. Our guide will explain about the daily life and traditions of the inhabitants of the area.
You will have the opportunity to make a cultural exchange with the villagers, learning some phrases in the Quechua language

DAY 3: CUNCANI – LARES
In the morning after having a nutritious breakfast you will have a kind farewell with the villagers.
You will leave Cuncani towards the Lares hot springs on the route you will see products of the region such as quinoa, potatoes and tarwi and some typical birds.
Upon arriving in Lares, you will remain prudent for a while in the hot springs, after that, our transport will transfer you to Ollantaytambo.
You will board the train at the Ollantaytambo station towards the Aguas Calientes town

DAY 4: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
Early in the morning, our guide will pass by your hotel and head to the bus station. You will board the tourist bus that will take you along a zigzagging path until you reach the Inca Wonder of Machu Picchu on a 30-minute trip.
After passing through the checkpoint, you will have a guided tour of approximately 2 hours through the main places of Machu Picchu such as the enclosures, sacred fountains, temples, the Intiwatana, the agricultural sector and the urban sector.
Finishing the guided tour, the guide will leave you in a strategic area where you can explore and take pictures of the memory.
After leaving Machu Picchu, you will return to Aguas Calientes on a tourist bus. In Aguas Calientes you can enjoy a delicious lunch in one of the restaurants of the town.
After lunch, according to the schedule, you will board the train back to Ollantaytambo, where our representative will be waiting for you with a sign with your name to take you to your hotel in Cusco.

TO TAKE INTO ACCOUNT:
- You must consider that it will be necessary to line up to board the bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu and the bus from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes depending on the high or low season. Our guide can give you suggestions on how to dose your time properly.
- Visit Machu Picchu is governed by a circuit programmed in only one direction with no option to return. From January 1, 2019, there is no re-entry to Machu Picchu, re-entry is only possible if your ticket includes Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, so it is recommended to go to the Inti Punku or Inca bridge, before starting your tour guided by Machu Picchu with prior coordination with your tour guide.
- Trains are subject to availability depending on the anticipated time of reservation or season.
ADDITIONAL:
- If your train schedule allows, we recommend visiting the Chavez Ballòn Museum, which is the Machu Picchu’ site museum, from 12:00 noon, admission is free, to enter you must only show your passport.
- Another place you can visit is the Butterfly House, where you can appreciate the growth stages of a butterfly from being a cocoon to an adult butterfly. The entry price is S /. 10.00.
