TOUR CLASSIC INCA TRAIL TO MACHU PICCHU

DAY 1: CUSCO -KM 82 – WAYLLABAMBA

This adventure will begin traveling to KM 82 in Piscacucho community, where the tour will begin. This day you will visit Patallaqta archaeological center, after a walk you will reach Huayllabamba where will be the camp, surrounded by the most beautiful landscapes.

DAY 2: WAYLLABAMBA – WARMIWAÑUSKA – PACAYMAYO

This is the hardest day. It will pass through Warmiwañusca at 4200 m.a.s.l. from where you will have stunning views of the mountains, glaciers, clouds, etc. After a descent of approximately 1 hour you will arrive at the Pacaymayo camp. Free afternoon.

DAY 3: PACAYMAYO – PHUYUPATAMARKA – WIÑAYWAYNA

This day will pass through Runkurakay (3850 m.a.s.l.) the second Inca Trail’s highest point, in addition to visiting its archaeological center. You will also visit Sayacmarca and later Phuyupatamarca. Finally spend the night in Wiñaywayna.

DAY 4: WIÑAYWAYNA – INTI PUNKU – MACHUPICCHU

The most anticipated day. After waking up very early, you will hike to Inti Punku where you can see the sunrise. After descent to Machu Picchu you will have a guided tour. Approximately 2 hours through the Machu Picchu main places.
When leaving Machu Picchu you will go to Aguas Calientes for lunch and then board the train back to Ollantaytambo, from there our representative will take you back to your hotel in Cusco.

DAY 1: CUSCO – KM 82 – WAYLLABAMBA

Inca trail 4 days starts picking you up from your respective hotel and then goes to km 82 (Pisqakucho), which is the beginning of the Classic Inka Trail.
From here you will start this adventure through the sacred valley and then through the mountains, along the way, you will visit beautiful Inca sites like Patallaqta and at the end of the day you will reach Wayllabamba where our camp will be ready (3000 m).

  • Duration: 6-7 hrs.
  • Distance: 12 km approximately.
  • Overnight: Camp in Wayllabamba.

DAY 2: WAYLLABAMBA – WARMIWAÑUSKA – PACAYMAYO

Early in the morning, after a delicious breakfast in our camp, you will begin the great adventure, perhaps for many people, it is the most difficult day of the whole tour, but without a doubt, it is the most beautiful challenge during the trek.
After five hours you will reach 4200 m.a.s.l., Warmiwañuska or the dead woman pass, from this point you will have a breathtaking view of the mountains, glaciers, clouds, etc.
Then you will begin the descent for 1 hour, until you arrive at Pacaymayo camp, where you will enjoy a delicious lunch and then you will have the afternoon free to relax.
In this same camp you will take your Dinner and the same way you will spend the night.

  • Overnight: Camp in Pacaymayo.

DAY 3: PACAYMAYO – PHUYUPATAMARKA – WIÑAYWAYNA

After breakfast in our camp you will start walking until ascending to the second most important pass of the Inca Trail that is at 3,850 m.s.n.m. Along the way you can enjoy the magic and history of the archaeological complex of Runkurakay where you will have a guided tour around the complex, as well as the citadel of Sayacmarca.
After visiting these incredible places, you continue walking until arriving at the archaeological complex of Puyupatamarca another important monument, where you will have lunch, after a brief rest you will continue with the walk until arriving at the last camp Wiñay Huayna. Where you will have the last dinner and also where you will spend the last night.

  • Overnight: Camp in Wiñaywayna.

DAY 4: WIÑAYWAYNA – INTI PUNKU – MACHUPICCHU

After a light breakfast, you will continue with the trek very early to arrive on time and be able to appreciate the sunrise in Machu Picchu.
After an hour’s walk, you will pass by Inti Punku or Puerta del Sol, also known as the main entrance gate to Machu Picchu, where you will be able to appreciate the most impressive panoramic view of the whole citadel.
After this experience, you will visit for 3 hours approximately the most important and beautiful places of the Inca citadel, such as the enclosures, squares, Sacred fountains, Temples the agricultural and urban sector.
After the guided tour you will have free time for you to take pictures, etc. After previous coordination, you will meet the rest of the group to take the bus that will take us to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you can enjoy a delicious lunch (not included) in any of the tourist restaurants in town.
In the afternoon/evening you will return to Cusco by train.

TO TAKE INTO ACCOUNT:

  • You must consider that it will be necessary to line up to board the bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu and the bus from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes depending on the high or low season. Our guide can give you suggestions on how to dose your time properly.
  • Visit Machu Picchu is governed by a circuit programmed in only one direction with no option to return. From January 1, 2019, there is no re-entry to Machu Picchu, re-entry is only possible if your ticket includes Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, so it is recommended to go to the Inti Punku or Inca bridge, before starting your tour guided by Machu Picchu with prior coordination with your tour guide.
  • Trains are subject to availability depending on the anticipated time of reservation or season.

ADDITIONAL:

  • If your train schedule allows, we recommend visiting the Chavez Ballòn Museum, which is the Machu Picchu’ site museum, from 12:00 noon, admission is free, to enter you must only show your passport.
  • Another place you can visit is the Butterfly House, where you can appreciate the growth stages of a butterfly from being a cocoon to an adult butterfly. The entry price is S /. 10.00.
