Rainbow Mountain ATV Tour

We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 4:00 a.m., to make the most of your day. Aboard our comfortable and modern vehicles, you will have the opportunity to rest during the two-hour drive to the community of Cusipata.

Upon arrival in Cusipata, we will stop to enjoy a delicious breakfast, perfect for recharging our batteries before beginning our adventure. After breakfast, we will continue the trip in our vehicle for another hour, entering the impressive high Andean landscape.

Once we arrive at the ATV base, we will provide you with all the necessary equipment and you will receive a brief safety orientation, along with a 15-minute practice on the ATVs to make sure you feel comfortable. With everything ready, begin the ATV trip to the famous Rainbow Mountain.

The ATV tour lasts approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, during which you will cross an impressive landscape of mountains, streams, and fields where you will see Andean camelids, such as alpacas and llamas, grazing freely in their natural habitat. As we advance, the views of the snow-capped mountains will accompany you, creating the perfect setting for some incredible photos.

When you reach the main parking lot, where the vehicles end, you will have two options: if you feel prepared, you can take a 45-minute to 1-hour walk to the top of Rainbow Mountain. However, if you prefer to avoid physical effort, you can choose to rent a linear motorcycle that will take you to the foot of the viewpoint. From there, you will only need 15 minutes of walking to reach the best view of Rainbow Mountain.

Once at the viewpoint, you will be amazed by the beauty of this natural wonder, where layers of ochre, red, yellow and green colors paint the slopes of the mountain. From this point, you will also be able to enjoy spectacular views of the Nevado Ausangate on the horizon. This place is perfect for taking unforgettable photographs and connecting with the grandeur of Peruvian nature.

After having admired the Rainbow Mountain and enjoying the pure air of the Andes, we will begin the gradual descent back to the parking lot. We will mount our ATVs again and return to the base, where this exciting part of the adventure will conclude.

Before returning to Cusco, we will stop in Cusipata to enjoy a delicious buffet lunch, an excellent way to recharge our batteries after an adrenaline-filled day. Lunch includes typical dishes from the region, prepared with fresh, local ingredients, so you can taste the best of Cusco cuisine.

Finally, we will begin the return trip to the imperial city of Cusco, with an estimated arrival time between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m. You will arrive with the satisfaction of having lived one of the most exciting adventures in the Andes, and with unforgettable memories of the unique landscapes and ancestral culture of this region.

IMPORTANT

The Rainbow Mountain tour in Cusco is considered a moderate to challenging hike.

It involves a bus journey of approximately 2 hours, followed by a 1.5 to 2-hour uphill hike to reach the summit of Vinicunca at 5036 meters above sea level. The descent also takes about 2 hours of hiking.
