Machu Picchu 2 Day Tour and Sacred Valley
TRIP SUMMARY
Summary of the 2 Day Machu Picchu Tour
The Machu Picchu 2-day tour is one of the best options for visiting two of Cusco’s most important destinations in a short time: the Sacred Valley of the Incas and the citadel of Machu Picchu. This trip is designed for travelers who want an organized, comfortable and complete experience, without having to worry about trains, transfers, hotel, entrance tickets or schedule coordination.
During the first day, you will explore the Sacred Valley, a place full of history, Andean landscapes, traditional villages and important archaeological sites such as Pisac and Ollantaytambo. Afterwards, you will travel by train to Aguas Calientes, the town located at the foot of Machu Picchu, where you will spend the night before beginning your visit to the Inca wonder the following day at a more relaxed pace.
Why choose this package?
This tour combines culture, landscapes, history and comfort in only 2 days. Unlike a one-day tour, this experience allows you to rest in Aguas Calientes, avoid an overly rushed journey and better enjoy your visit to Machu Picchu. It also includes assistance, transportation, train, hotel, bus, entrance ticket and professional guide, making your trip safer and more organized.
The following day, you will take the bus from Aguas Calientes to the entrance of Machu Picchu, where you will enjoy a guided visit through the most important areas of the citadel, according to the circuit available at the time of booking. Our team will help you organize the experience while considering official ticket availability, train schedules and your chosen hotel category.
This Machu Picchu 2-day, 1-night tour is ideal for couples, families and travelers from Latin America who want to visit Machu Picchu without complications, supported by a local agency in Cusco and personalized assistance before and during the trip.
Itinerary
We will begin the tour with pickup from your hotel in Cusco and head toward the Sacred Valley of the Incas. During the journey, we will enjoy Andean landscapes, mountains, agricultural terraces and traditional villages that preserve part of the living essence of Inca culture.
Our first visit will be Pisac, where you will discover its archaeological site and famous handicraft market. We will then continue to Urubamba, where you will enjoy a buffet lunch featuring typical flavors of the region.
In the afternoon, we will visit Ollantaytambo, known as the “living Inca city,” a place full of history, stone streets and an impressive fortress built on the mountainside. At the end of the visit, we will board the train to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, our staff will accompany you to your hotel and you will receive instructions for your visit to Machu Picchu the following day.
Very early in the morning, we will head to the bus station in Aguas Calientes to travel up to the citadel of Machu Picchu. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes and allows you to enjoy mountain and cloud forest scenery before arriving at the main entrance.
Inside Machu Picchu, you will enjoy an approximately 2-hour guided visit, exploring the most important areas according to the available circuit. During the guided tour, you will learn about the history, architecture, ceremonial function and cultural value of this wonder of the world.
After the visit, we will return by bus to Aguas Calientes, where you will have time to have lunch or explore the town before boarding the return train to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival, our transportation will be waiting to take you back to your hotel in Cusco.
