TRIP SUMMARY
Trip Overview
This 10-day journey combines the best of Peru across three incredible worlds: the coast, the Andes, and the Amazon rainforest. The experience begins in Lima with your arrival, free time to rest, and a guided city tour through the modern and historic areas of the capital. You will then enjoy a full-day adventure to Paracas and Ica, visiting the Ballestas Islands, the Huacachina Oasis with dune buggies and sandboarding, and a traditional vineyard with a tasting experience.
Afterward, you will fly to Cusco to acclimatize and explore the city through its most important historical and archaeological sites. The journey continues through the Sacred Valley of the Incas before taking the train to Aguas Calientes and visiting the world-famous Machu Picchu with a professional guide.
The second part of the trip takes you deep into the Amazon rainforest. You will fly to Puerto Maldonado and navigate by boat to your lodge in the Tambopata area. During your stay, you will enjoy nature-based activities such as a night caiman search, giant river otter observation at Tres Chimbadas Lake, a visit to a scientific tower, a parrot clay lick, walks through primary forest, a local farm visit, and an optional night walk. The trip ends with your return to Puerto Maldonado and flight to Lima.
