After visiting the Uros islands, we’ll sail to Taquile Island, renowned for its stunning landscapes and rich cultural heritage. LAKE TITICACA TOUR ITINERARY
Start: 7:30 a.m
Today, we will embark on an unforgettable journey across Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world, known for its breathtaking beauty and unique cultural experiences. The day will start early, with a pickup from your hotel around 7:30 a.m. From there, we will head to the port of Puno to board our boat and begin our adventure.
Our first destination will be the Uros floating islands, an extraordinary place both culturally and architecturally. These islands are constructed entirely from totora reeds, a plant that grows abundantly in Lake Titicaca. Your guide will provide a detailed explanation about the Uros people’s way of life, their history, and their traditions. You will have free time to explore the islands on your own, admire their unique construction, and observe the daily life of the inhabitants. Take the opportunity to interact with them and learn more about their customs and the process of crafting their artisanal products.
After visiting the Uros islands, we will sail towards Taquile Island, a place renowned for its stunning landscapes and rich cultural heritage. We will spend approximately three hours on the island, enjoying its beauty and learning about local customs. During this time, you will have the chance to enjoy a traditional lunch at a local restaurant, featuring fresh trout, a typical delicacy of the region.
Following lunch, you will have more free time to explore Taquile at your own pace. You can wander through its picturesque streets, visit artisan workshops, and interact with the locals. The people of Taquile are known for their intricate textiles and traditional crafts, which reflect their rich cultural heritage.
Finally, in the afternoon, we will return to the port of Puno. From there, we will transfer you back to your hotel, ending a day full of exploration and beauty on Lake Titicaca. You will spend the night in Puno, where you can relax and reflect on the wonderful experiences of the day.
