DAY 1:  CUSCO – ABRA MALAGA – SANTA TERESA

→ The first day of the adventure involves an exciting mountain bike descent through the majestic Andes from the Abra Málaga, experiencing the freedom of the road while enjoying spectacular views.

→ Then, if you are more intrepid, rafting on the Vilcanota River adds an extra dose of excitement, challenging its refreshing waters in an action-packed experience before getting to Santa Teresa.

DAY 2: SANTA TERESA – HIDROELECTRICA – AGUAS CALIENTES

→ In Santa Teresa, you’ll glide through the mountains on an impressive zipline, feeling the speed and magic of the Andes beneath your feet.

→ After a very adventurous day, the final Inca Jungle Trek will end with a 3-hour hike from Hidro electrical to Aguas Calientes, following the train riel combined with nature and the Vilcanota River.

DAY 3: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – OLLANTAYTAMBO – CUSCO

→ On this day, you’ll discover the stunning wonder of Machu Picchu. You will take the tourist bus to the citadel, where you’ll enjoy a guided tour of approximately 2 hours of its main attractions.

→ Afterward, you’ll return to Aguas Calientes for lunch and later take the train back to Ollantaytambo. There, our representative will meet you and take you back to your hotel in Cusco.

COMPLETE ITINERARY FOR THE INCA JUNGLE TREK 3 DAYS / 2 NIGHTS

DAY 1:  CUSCO – ABRA MALAGA – SANTA TERESA

The Inca Jungle Trek 3 Days begins with hotel pickup and the journey to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, the first stop will be Ollantaytambo (2,792 m), a charming Inca village where travelers can do some last-minute shopping before beginning their adventure.

From Ollantaytambo, the journey continues upward to the Málaga Pass (4,316 m), the starting point for the first activity: an exciting bike descent for approximately three hour through stunning Andean landscapes on a pure adrenaline route until they reach Santa María, where a well-deserved lunch and a short break await them.

In the afternoon, the adventure continues on the Vilcanota River, with two hours of canoeing on class 2 and 3 rapids. Guided by an experienced kayaking instructor, excitement and safety are guaranteed on this unforgettable experience.

To round off the day in the best possible way, the final destination will be Santa Teresa (1,550 m), where travelers can relax in the soothing hot springs of Cocalmayo, enjoying a well-deserved break surrounded by nature.

Note: If you prefer not to ride the bike downhill, you can travel in our vehicle, which will accompany the group during the trip.

DAY 2: SANTA TERESA – HIDROELECTRICA – AGUAS CALIENTES

The second day of the Inca Jungle Trek 3 Days begins early with a delicious breakfast to recharge your batteries before one of the most exciting activities of the tour: the longest zip line in South America. With six lines of steel cables, this experience includes thrilling challenges such as climbing and a suspension bridge, offering an extra dose of adrenaline amidst the stunning Andean landscapes. For those who haven’t booked the zip line, there’s the option to continue the adventure with a hike along a road to Hidroeléctrica.

The journey to Hidroeléctrica takes approximately two hours, passing through landscapes full of vegetation and spectacular views. Upon arrival, you’ll pass through the checkpoint and continue with a short 20-minute walk following the railway line to reach the restaurant, where travelers will enjoy a comforting lunch and a well-deserved rest.

After lunch, the hike continues for approximately two more hours until reaching the town of Aguas Calientes, the access point to Machu Picchu. Once settled into the accommodation, the group will gather for dinner, at which point the guide will provide an introduction and details about the next day’s visit to the Inca citadel.

DAY 3: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – OLLANTAYTAMBO – CUSCO

This last day of the Inca Jungle Trek 3 Days is the most anticipated of the tour: the visit to the majestic Machu Picchu, keep in mind that the entry times vary between 6:00 and 9:00 a.m., depending on availability and how far in advance the tour is booked. Depending on the assigned entry time, the day will begin with breakfast in Aguas Calientes, preparing us for the big moment.

Once at the entrance to Machu Picchu, the guide will gather the group for a fascinating tour of the archaeological site. During the tour, you will explore the main Inca temples and buildings, such as the Temple of the Sun, the Sun Clock, and the House of the Inka, while revealing the mysteries and history of this wonder of the world.

After the tour, travelers can descend to Aguas Calientes on foot or by bus. However, it is important to consider that the line to board the bus can be long and take more than an hour at certain times of the day.

Back in Aguas Calientes, you’ll board the return train to Ollantaytambo, where a private vehicle will be waiting to take you back to Cusco, marking the end of an unforgettable adventure.
