Upon reaching the starting point, we will begin a hike of about 1 hour to reach the Rainbow Mountain, situated at over 16,400 feet above sea level. Once at the summit, you will have time to enjoy the panoramic views, take photos, and connect with the unique energy of this Andean landscape. Later, we will begin the descent on foot to the meeting point with our transport. Back in Cusipata, a buffet lunch will be waiting for us. Finally, we will head back to Cusco, with an estimated arrival around 5:00 p.m.

At the agreed time, we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and take you to the airport for your flight to Puerto Maldonado. (Flight must arrive before 1:00 p.m.). Upon arrival, guests will receive a warm welcome before being transferred to our headquarters, where you can comfortably repack and safely store any belongings not needed during your jungle stay. Next, we will head to the port to begin a scenic boat ride of approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes to the Explorer’s Inn. During the journey, guests will enjoy a specially prepared Amazonian lunch accompanied by local snacks. With some luck, the trip will offer the chance to spot the incredible wildlife inhabiting the riverbanks: capybaras, herons, egrets, horned screamers, caimans, turtles, macaws, and parrots, among many other species.

During the trip, we will make a brief but mandatory stop at the La Torre checkpoint to register our entry into the Tambopata National Reserve. Upon arrival at the lodge, guests will be greeted by our resident manager, who will provide useful information, recommendations, and all the details necessary to guarantee a safe, comfortable, and enriching stay. Before the evening activity, you can choose a short 100-meter walk to a special lookout point, the perfect place to watch a stunning Amazonian sunset. At nightfall, our naturalist guide will offer a fascinating presentation on the different caiman species in the region as a prelude to an unforgettable experience. Later, we will embark on an exciting night excursion on the Tambopata River in search of caimans. With the help of a spotlight, our guide will locate them from a safe and respectful distance, allowing you to observe them in their natural habitat. Finally, we will return to the lodge for a quiet night’s rest in the heart of the Amazon, surrounded by the magical sounds of the rainforest.

Tres Chimbadas Lake is a fascinating natural refuge, a serene corner full of life in the heart of the Amazon basin, located within the Infierno Community Reserve. This small but extraordinary lake plays a fundamental ecological role, harboring an amazing diversity of species, including the giant river otter, one of the most iconic and endangered treasures of the Amazon. To increase our chances of seeing these charming creatures, we will start the day early with a 30-minute boat ride followed by an approx. 1.2-mile hike through the rainforest. Once at the lake, we will board a traditional catamaran to glide softly over its waters while engaging in an exciting "game of hide-and-seek" with the otters. Throughout the tour, we will be surrounded by the extraordinary biodiversity of the Amazonian ecosystem: keep a sharp eye out for black caimans, hoatzins, horned screamers, and a wide variety of water birds thriving among the lush shoreline vegetation. After this unforgettable experience, we will return to the lodge for a well-deserved lunch and a short rest. In the afternoon, your naturalist guide will accompany you to visit our impressive 137-foot science tower, the first of its kind in the region, designed to study the effects of climate change on the Peruvian Amazon. Located within our private reserve in the heart of the Tambopata National Reserve, this tower features state-of-the-art instruments that monitor solar radiation, carbon flux, and other essential environmental indicators. Beyond its scientific function, the tower offers an unparalleled viewpoint to admire the jungle from a completely new perspective. As you climb, you can appreciate the different layers of the forest—from the ground to the treetops—and understand the complex web of life that sustains this ecosystem. From the top, a breathtaking panoramic view awaits, where macaws, toucans, and other species appear at eye level. This experience is not just a sightseeing visit, but an invitation to connect deeply with the Amazon, contemplate its immense beauty, and understand why its conservation is essential for the planet's balance. Overnight at the lodge.

We start the day early with a 10-minute boat ride to a small parrot clay lick, one of the Amazon’s most fascinating natural spectacles. Here, mineral-rich clay walls attract up to eight different species of parrots and parakeets, which gather every morning to feed. The experience is truly unforgettable: the vibrant colors of the birds, the constant flapping of wings, and the melodic chatter echoing from the treetops create a magical atmosphere as they swoop down to the clay. A moment that captivates birdwatchers and nature lovers alike. After enjoying this unique show, we will return to the lodge for a hearty Amazonian breakfast. Later, we will venture into the Tambopata National Reserve with a guided hike through the primary forest, a pristine environment where ancient trees rise majestically and biodiversity manifests at every step. This deeply immersive experience offers a genuine connection with the living essence of the tropical rainforest. After a delicious Amazonian lunch and a short rest, we will visit a local farm, where we will learn about traditional farming practices and the importance of sustainable tourism as a source of support for the community. At nightfall, those who wish can participate in an optional night hike, a unique opportunity to discover the fascinating nocturnal world of the jungle: frogs, insects, perhaps a night monkey, and a natural symphony accompanied by the glow of the Milky Way over the Amazonian canopy. A perfect day combining adventure, discovery, and deep connection with nature.

As your Amazon adventure comes to an end, it’s time to say goodbye to this extraordinary natural environment. After breakfast and check-out, those who wish can take an optional walk, depending on the departure schedule. A short distance from the lodge is Laguna Chica, a charming oxbow lake that remains fertile and moist year-round. During the start of the rainy season, the grass reaches its highest point, creating a scene of great natural beauty. This is an ideal spot for water bird observation, and it’s not uncommon to encounter saddle-back tamarins or hear the unmistakable call of howler monkeys among the vegetation. After this final connection with Amazonian nature, we will head back to Puerto Maldonado to board your flight to Cusco. You will take with you lasting memories of the jungle, its landscapes, its people, and the profound connection with nature that characterizes this Amazonian experience. Upon arrival in Cusco, a Kantu Peru Tours representative will be waiting to give you a warm welcome and transfer you to your hotel.

Get ready for a day full of culture, history, and stunning landscapes on the Sun Route Tour, a journey that connects the legacy of the Inca Empire with the wonders of the Andean highlands. At approximately 6:00 a.m., our team will pick you up from your hotel to transfer you comfortably to the bus station to begin this unforgettable journey. Our first stop will be the Andahuaylillas Chapel, a 17th-century architectural jewel known as the “Sistine Chapel of the Andes,” famous for its dazzling murals and religious artworks. We will continue to Raqchi, home to the Temple of the God Wiracocha, one of the most notable structures of the Inca period. This archaeological site will surprise you with its storehouses (colcas) and its monumental stone and adobe walls that reflect the grandeur of Inca engineering. At noon, we will enjoy an included buffet lunch at the La Pascana tourist restaurant, where you can taste the most representative flavors of local cuisine. After recharging, we will ascend to La Raya, the highest point of the route, ideal for taking panoramic photographs of the majestic Andes and the surrounding snow-capped peaks. Our final stop will be at the Pukara Museum, where you will see an interesting collection of pre-Inca ceramics and sculptures representing zoomorphic figures and telling the history of one of the oldest cultures in the highlands. At the end of the tour, we will arrive in Puno, where our representative will be waiting to transfer you comfortably to your hotel.

Your host will pick you up from your hotel to accompany you to the local port, where you will meet our guide and together begin this magical journey across Lake Titicaca. We will board a motorboat to start the crossing toward the Uros Floating Islands. For approximately 45 minutes, we will explore this unique set of islands inhabited by the ancestral Uros community. The community consists of over 40 floating islands built entirely of totora, an aquatic plant they use to build their homes, craft their rafts, use as fuel, and even as food. Accompanied by a bilingual guide (English and Spanish), we will learn firsthand about their lifestyle, traditions, and customs. We will visit the main island and tour 2 or 3 additional islands, spending about 30 minutes on each. During the visit, you will have the option to take a ride on a traditional totora reed boat (optional). Next, we will continue the boat journey to Taquile Island. Upon arrival, we will begin an approx. 1-hour hike to reach the main village. In Taquile, we will enjoy about 3 hours to explore the island, admire its spectacular landscapes, and learn about the customs of its inhabitants, who are renowned for their traditional handmade textiles—declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. At noon, we will enjoy a typical trout-based lunch at a local restaurant, followed by free time to walk around the island before returning. The return to Puno will be at 2:30 p.m., arriving in the city around 5:00 p.m. (on a regular boat). Upon arrival at the port, we will transfer you back to your hotel.

According to your flight details, our team will coordinate the pickup time from your hotel in Puno to transfer you comfortably to the Juliaca airport. We will ensure your transfer is punctual, safe, and smooth, providing reliable and high-quality service at all times. This marks the end of our services.
