DAY 1: WELCOME TO LIMA AND LIMA CITY TOUR  (AFTERNOON)

Once you will arrive in Lima our representative From Kantu Peru Tours will be waiting for you at the airport and then you will be taken to your hotel.

In the Afternoon

Our representative from Kantu Peru Tours will pick you up from your hotel to start this fantastic tour where we will visit the most modern districts of Miraflores and San Isidro. We will visit the Financial Center, the Golf, the Olivar park, the Huaca Pucllana a pre-Inca pyramidal temple that still survives the urban expansion where our guide will explain the history of this majestic place and then we will go towards Parque del Amor located in Miraflores, from where we can appreciate the majestic Pacific Ocean.

Lima Historical Center

To continue with this adventure, we will go to the Lima Historical Center, declared by UNESCO in 1991 Cultural Heritage of Humanity, due to its beautiful architecture. where the Spanish established in the 16th century, we will visit the Plaza San Martín, the balconies and old mansions, the Plaza Mayor where we will appreciate the most important buildings such as the Government Palace, the Cathedral of Lima, the Archbishop’s Palace, Municipal and the crypt of Francisco Pizarro – founder of the city of Lima.

DAY 2:FLIGHT TO PUERTO MALDONADO 

(Domestic Flight must be before 13:00 hours)

River crossing to Tambopata Ecolodge

Upon arrival to Puerto Maldonado beautiful jungle, we will begin our ecotourism itinerary in the Peruvian jungle, our representative from Kantu Peru tours will assist you on a 68-kilometer journey by road and the Tambopata River to the Ecolodge (23 km by road, 45 km by boat). Where we can appreciate the exuberant vegetation from colonized and deforested areas to the virgin rainforest. This tour is one of the most appreciable experiences of any trip to a tropical forest ecosystem because it offers the opportunity to observe native flora and Amazonian fauna with the assistance of our specialized observer and naturalist guides. A delicious and nutritious box lunch will be provided on our boat. Upon arrival at our Ecolodge, our guide will give us time to settle in your eco-lodge, rest, and enjoy the comforts, our tour guide will take us to explore the tropical jungle of the Tambopata River in a short walk behind our lodge to appreciate giant Brazil nut trees. we will have the opportunity to appreciate on this trail are brown capuchin monkeys, agoutis, blue-morpho butterflies, trogons, toucans, and other bird species. At night we will have a slideshow as an introduction and recommendations to the Tambopata National Reserve. After our buffet dinner, we will have a guided night walk, where we will be able to see the world’s only nocturnal monkey species, learn more about the insects of the Amazon, and the unique sounds of the nocturnal jungle.

DAY 3: MONKEYS, AVIFAUNA, JUNGLE LIFE 

We will wake up with the song of the jungle birds and then have an excellent buffet breakfast, to start with a fascinating boat trip (approximately 4-6 hours) to have the opportunity to see native species and look out for Amazon fauna on the riverbanks and in the treetops. During this time, we will have the best opportunities to appreciate the fauna that is not easily found to see from inside the forest, such as the Orinoco geese and other species of birds also is possible to see capybaras and jaguars. Our main destination is the largest macaw clay lick in the world (El Colorado). We will camp on the beach near the macaw clay lick, and then have our lunch and relax time, our naturalist guide will take you around to explore and learn more about this fantastic place looking for monkey troops and other species of fauna Amazon, such as tapirs, alligators, and other birds and then return to our camp, relax and have instructions from our guide to the scenes awaiting for us.

DAY 4: A MACAW CLAY LICK 

We will wake up very early to be able to appreciate the sunrise in the jungle and appreciate this incredible phenomenon in the macaw clay lick. When the sun begins to shine on the riverbank, hundreds of parrots and macaws arrive and perch in the nearby trees. Depending on the species, and the time of year, they appear in pairs or in flocks of hundreds to consume small portions of clay, and you will enjoy this beautiful spectacle of color and sound. In the afternoon we will go to our Ecolodge, to be able to enjoy the comforts of our cabins. At night, we will have our dinner and then have a brief by our guides about the alligators to  return to the river in search of alligators and other nocturnal animals. At night, we will have the opportunity to see some species of snakes and capybaras on the banks of the Tambopata River.

DAY 5:  MORNING RIVER CROSSING AND JOURNEY TO LIMA

Our adventure in the Amazon jungle ends today. Returning through the exuberant vegetation of the river to the Puerto Maldonado airport. Where we will observe wildlife, while the forest wakes up. looking out for Amazonian fauna from our boat, always with the assistance of one of our experienced naturalist guides. Once you are in Puerto Maldonado airport you will board the plane.

upon your arrival, We will welcome you at the airport in Lima and transfer you to your Hotel. The rest of the day will be free to explore Lima.

DAY 6: BALLESTAS ISLANDS TOUR  

Very Early In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel and then we will continue around the road; at 9:30 AM The first stop will be the pier to pass the SERNAMP control  and wait to board.  during the tour over the waters of the Pacific Ocean, we will be able to observe the geoglyph El Candelabro, the rock formations that make up the islands, the sea lions, the diversity of marine species and birds in the area. Around 11:00 am we will have free time to buy snacks or see the crafts of the area, after 20 minutes we will start the Tour to the Paracas Reserve, where we will visit the ruins of the cathedral rock formation, yumaque beach, red beach and lagunilla beach then we will have time to enjoy lunch and rest- if you wish you can visit ( Paracas Reserve interpretation room) optional around 03:00 pm. We will transfer you to the hotel or bus station in Paracas.

DAY 7: FLIGHT OVER THE NAZCA LINES  AND RETURN TO LIMA 

Our Kantu Peru tours representative will pick you up from your hotel in Paracas and then we will go in our tourist transport to the airport in Nazca where we will have some recommendations before the flight. where you will enjoy a wonderful view with an impressive flight of approximately 30 minutes over the Nazca lines, where you will be able to appreciate 12 geoglyphic figures: The Spider, The Monkey, The Dog, The Lizard, The Hummingbird, The Condor, among others in large dimensions that They reach from 15 to 300 meters each and a depth of approximately 30 centimeters that represent the Pre-Inca cultural heritage located in this area of ​​Peru.  where we will have an opportunity to take several photographs and videos of this wonderful experience.

DAY 8: FLIGHT TO AND CITY TOUR (AFTERNOON)

In the afternoon you start the Cusco city tour, around 01:30 pm. Exploring Stunning Archeological Inca places, our tour leader and the transport will pick you up from the hotel. This Cusco day trip will inspirit you for the next Stunning Inca places. The first Archeological Place today will be The temple Of the san Called also Koricancha, followed by the Megalytic construction of Sacsayhuaman. Last but not least, you visit Q’enqo the temple of the  Puma, The fortress of Puca Pucara, and The temple of the Water of Tambomachay.

DAY 9: SACRED VALLE TOUR

PISAC

The tour to the Sacred Valley starts At 7:30 am, where our tourist transport will pick you up from your hotel, and then start our adventure through the mountains on the way to Pisac. On the way, you will make some stops, where we will be able to take pictures and appreciate the sacred valley of the Incas from a beautiful touristic viewpoint. Once in Pisac, you can visit its archaeological center: full of terraces and temples; and of course its artisan market.

URUBAMBA

Afterward, you will go through the Sacred Valley to the town of Urubamba, where you will stop to take our lunch in a beautiful tourist restaurant, trying different types of dishes and unique flavors that can only offer you a great buffet lunch.

OLLANTAYTAMBO

In the afternoon you will visit the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo, you will know its history, magic, culture

DAY 10: MORAY AND THE SALT MINES OF MARAS +TRANSFER TO AGUAS CALIENTES TOWN

Moray

At 8 am, our tourist transport will pick you up from your hotel, then to start our adventure through the mountains on the way to Moray located in the Maras Region. Once there we can learn about the importance of this place, its function in the Inca era and of course Take grat photos of this amazing place.

The Salt Mines 

Then, we will go to the town of Maras to observe its colonial-style covering the Spanish streets and gates. After 15 more minutes in our tourist transport, we will arrive at the Salt Mines of Maras, an impressive place with more than 3,000 salt deposits, which are still being exploited by the local population.

Finally, you will take you the train station to go  from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes Town

DAY 11:  MACHU PICCHU TOUR

Early in the morning after breakfast (According to the time entrance ticket to Machu Picchu) the tour leader will come to the hotel and take you to take the bus toward Machu Picchu Inca city. You will travel for 30 minutes until you reach Machu Picchu Control. It is important to carry the original Passport since the tickets to Machu Picchu are personal. Kantu Peru tours will give you a unique experience in Machu Picchu because our tour leaders will be patients when you visit this new wonder of the world. You will have time to take some pictures of the classic view. Then, you have a guided tour for about two hours, visiting the most important temples and sectors from Machu Picchu.

It is important that you have to know that there are some restrictions to do in Machu Picchu, for example, the tour is one way, it is not allowed to come back to the places already visited. Machu Picchu ticket is just one entrance unless you book in advance Machu Picchu city plus Huaynapicchu Mountain you have the chance to re-enter to the Inca city again. Finishing this amazing Cusco to Machu Picchu 2 days’ experience you will take the bus from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes town, where you will have a delicious lunch at the Munaycha Restaurant.

In the afternoon (according to your train schedule), you will take the train back to Ollantaytambo, where our driver will be waiting for you with a sign with your name. He will drop you at your hotel in Cusco city.

DAY 12: RAINBOW MOUTAIN TOUR 

FROM CUSCO TO VINICUNCA RAINBOW MOUNTAIN

The tour starts from your hotel in Cusco at 4:00 am approx, depending on your hotel location the pickup time will be quite different.

Once the group is ready the great adventure will start in the direction of Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain. You travel by car for 2 hours approx in our tourist transport until arriving in the community of Cusipata. Here, you enjoy a delicious breakfast before continuing with the tour.

Continuing the Rainbow Mountain Tour, The car leaves the main road to take the dirt road for 45 minutes more. During the trip, you can observe beautiful landscapes, canyons, and beautiful glaciers as The Ausangate Glacier (The biggest of the Cusco region).

THE HIKE

Once you arrive at the final stop for the van, the group starts hiking for 1.5 hours approx. The time is average and It depends on sure of your speed but no worries you will hike at your rhythm.

After having a nice hike to the Rainbow Mountain Cusco, You finally arrive at the destination: The Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain (5.020m / 16.466 ft.). Once the group is together again, you have all the information about this beautiful attraction provided by our very knowledgeable tour guide. After that, you have free time to enjoy the beauty of the mountain on your own, take pictures, enjoy a snack, or just relax.

After enjoying Rainbow Mountain which is one of the best Day Trips From Cusco, The Group starts the walk back to the parking and then to the community of Cusipata. Here, you have a delicious lunch and then return to the imperial city of Cusco.

Finally, at the end of the Rainbow Mountain Tour, you return to Cusco where our transportation will take you to your respective hotel.

DAY 13: HUMANTAY LAKE TOUR ITINERARY

FROM CUSCO TO HUMANTAY

The Humantay Lake tour starts at 04:00 am approx from Cusco, depending on your hotel location the pickup time will be quite different.

Once the group is ready the great adventure will start in the direction of Humantay Lake. You travel by car for 2 hours approx in our tourist transport until arriving in the community of Mollepata. Here, you enjoy a delicious breakfast before continuing with the tour.

Continuing the Humantay Lake Tour, The car leaves the main road to take the dirt road for 1 hour more. During the trip, you can observe beautiful landscapes, canyons, cloud forest, and beautiful glaciers as The Salkantay Glacier (The second biggest glacier of the Cusco region).

HUMANTAY LAKE HIKE

Once you arrive at the final stop for the van, the group starts hiking for 1.5 hours more approx. The time is average and It depends on sure of your speed but no worries you will hike at your rhythm. The hike is a little bit more step than the Rainbow Mountain Tour, so try to have many stops in order to don’t get tired easily.

Upon reaching the incredible Humantay turquoise Lake, All the group will have the information from the Tour Guide and free time to explore more the place, an approximate 40 minutes will remain before getting back to the parking.

After 1 hour you get lunch in the same restaurant as in the morning. As the hike demands a lot of effort, the lunch is Buffet in order to recover all the energy lost in the hike.

Ending the Humantay Lake Tour, you return to Cusco where our van will take you to your respective hotel. Arrival is scheduled between 17:00 Hrs and 18 Hrs.

DAY 14: THE SUN’S ROUTE

The incredible South Valley Tour starts at 6:00 am approx. and the pickup is from your selected hotel in Cusco City.

In the morning at the agreed time, our transportation will pass through your hotel to pick you up and start the magic South Valley Tour Cusco towards the South East of Cusco on the route Cusco – Puno.

Check-in time for boarding tickets and baggage check-in 7:00 a.m. Departure, we will visit:

The Chapel of Andahuaylillas.

known as La Sistina de Los Andes for the beauty of its murals, the gold leaf work, and the paintings of the Cusco school.

Raqchi Inca Archaeological Complex.

Raya Pass

DAY 15: FULL DAY UROS  AND TAQUILE ISLANDS

ISLAND OF THE UROS – ISLAND OF AMANTANÍ (3663 M.S.N.M.)

Our Kantu Peru Tours representative will pass by your hotel at 07:30 hrs. Approximately where we will go with our tourist transport to the port of Puno to board the boats that will take us on this adventure, we will go to the Uros floating islands, where our guide will explain the living culture of this place and then have free time to explore by yourself. Then we will go to the Amantani 2 hours and 30 minutes approximately where we will be welcomed by residents of the area, accompanied by the families we will have a short hike 25  approximately minutes until we get to the family houses where we will have typical lunch food of the Zone base on trout after lunch we will settle down and rest to take a walk to the top of the island to see the Inca ceremonial temples “Pachamama and Pachatata” (4038 m.a.s.l). We will appreciate beautiful views of the lake and then descend to the family houses where they can enjoy a delicious dinner with the local people. the families organize an Andean Show where we can dance and wear the local clothing.

Day 16: TAQUILE ISLAND – PUNO PORT (3810 M.S.N.M.)

We will have a nutritious breakfast prepared with products that the inhabitants work on the island and then we will go to the Amantani port take our boat that will take us to the island of Taquile. Where we will have a walk to the main square from where we can observe the island and learn more about the customs and textiles, we will have free time to enjoy the landscape and have lunch in a restaurant (local food) and then descend to the Taquile port then we will return in our boat to the city when we arrive at the port of Puno our transport will be waiting to take you to your hotel.

DAY 17: JOURNEY TO COLCA CAÑON 

Between 6:00 a.m. to 6:15 a.m. Kantu Peru Tours will pick you up from your hotel in Puno To board and leave Puno at 06:30 AM., (6 hours of travel approx) along the way to Chivay, we will visit 3 places: Lagunillas, bird watching flamingos, Andean gulls, and mallards.

Pampa Cañahuas: where you can see the rock formations of the place and camelids such as vicuñas, llamas, and alpacas, then we will do third stop, in the Mirador Patapampa of the Volcanoes, about 4,950 meters above sea level. Where you can appreciate the Misti, Chachani, Ampato volcanoes. Around 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Approximately, arrival in Chivay (Installation at the hotel, Buffet Lunch) optional if you would like you can go to the relaxing thermal baths (La Calera) medicinal thermal waters. the range between 35º to 38º Celsius.

DAY 18: CAÑON DEL COLCA AND FLIGHT OF THE CONDORS 

At 06:00 am we will have a nutritious Andean breakfast and around 06:30 am  Our representative will pick you up from the hotel to go to the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint, a strategic observation point of the canyon and see the spectacular flight of the condor where we can take several photographs and then, take our tourist transport and stop at the towns of Pinchollo, Maca and Yanque; to appreciate beautiful colonial churches, as well as the Chocotico and Antahuilque viewpoints, from where we will appreciate and learn about the impressive terraces of the valley, the pre-Inca tombs.

DAY 19: AREQUIPA PEDESTRIAN CITY TOUR + SANTA CATALINA CONVENT

Our representative from Kantu Peru tours will pick you up from your hotel at the scheduled time and we will start with our pedestrian tour and we will go to go to the church of the Company where we will have an explanation about this fantastic place. The company is a construction carved in ashlar or volcanic stone, then we will visit Main Square the Plaza de Armas-The Cathedral of Arequipa which is the main church and was built entirely in ashlar (stone of volcanic origin). Where we can take several photos then, we will go to the archbishopric of Arequipa, a beautiful construction carved in pink ashlar with an imposing facade where we will have a brief explanation and then we will go to the Basilica and Convent of San Francisco de Arequipa located in the historic center of Arequipa. It is characterized by ashlar walls and a single nave and this built has mestizo style. To then go to the Monastery of Santa Catalina (In this beautiful place you can explore by yourself (Optional) or you can take an Internal Guide of the Monastery) where you can appreciate the religious architecture of the Viceroyalty and learn about the activities inside the monastery as well as culture, tradition, and religiosity.
