DAY 1: WELCOME TO LIMA AND LIMA CITY TOUR (AFTERNOON)
Once you will arrive in Lima our representative From Kantu Peru Tours will be waiting for you at the airport and then you will be taken to your hotel.

River crossing to Tambopata Ecolodge
Upon arrival to Puerto Maldonado beautiful jungle, we will begin our ecotourism itinerary in the Peruvian jungle, our representative from Kantu Peru tours will assist you on a 68-kilometer journey by road and the Tambopata River to the Ecolodge (23 km by road, 45 km by boat).
Where we can appreciate the exuberant vegetation from colonized and deforested areas to the virgin rainforest. This tour is one of the most appreciable experiences of any trip to a tropical forest ecosystem because it offers the opportunity to observe native flora and Amazonian fauna with the assistance of our specialized observer and naturalist guides. A delicious and nutritious box lunch will be provided on our boat.
Upon arrival at our Ecolodge, our guide will give us time to settle in your eco-lodge, rest, and enjoy the comforts, our tour guide will take us to explore the tropical jungle of the Tambopata River in a short walk behind our lodge to appreciate giant Brazil nut trees.
We will have the opportunity to appreciate on this trail are brown capuchin monkeys, agoutis, blue-morpho butterflies, trogons, toucans, and other bird species. At night we will have a slideshow as an introduction and recommendations to the Tambopata National Reserve.
After our buffet dinner, we will have a guided night walk, where we will be able to see the world’s only nocturnal monkey species, learn more about the insects of the Amazon, and the unique sounds of the nocturnal jungle.

DAY 3: MONKEYS, AVIFAUNA, JUNGLE LIFE
We will wake up with the song of the jungle birds and then have an excellent buffet breakfast, to start with a fascinating boat trip (approximately 4-6 hours) to have the opportunity to see native species and look out for Amazon fauna on the riverbanks and in the treetops.
During this time, we will have the best opportunities to appreciate the fauna that is not easily found to see from inside the forest, such as the Orinoco geese and other species of birds also is possible to see capybaras and jaguars.
Our main destination is the largest macaw clay lick in the world (El Colorado). We will camp on the beach near the macaw clay lick, and then have our lunch and relax time, our naturalist guide will take you around to explore and learn more about this fantastic place looking for monkey troops and other species of fauna Amazon, such as tapirs, alligators, and other birds .
Then return to our camp, relax and have instructions from our guide to the scenes awaiting for us.

DAY 4: A MACAW CLAY LICK
We will wake up very early to be able to appreciate the sunrise in the jungle and appreciate this incredible phenomenon in the macaw clay lick. When the sun begins to shine on the riverbank, hundreds of parrots and macaws arrive and perch in the nearby trees.
Depending on the species, and the time of year, they appear in pairs or in flocks of hundreds to consume small portions of clay, and you will enjoy this beautiful spectacle of color and sound. In the afternoon we will go to our Ecolodge, to be able to enjoy the comforts of our cabins.

Our adventure in the Amazon jungle ends today. Returning through the exuberant vegetation of the river to the Puerto Maldonado airport.
Where we will observe wildlife, while the forest wakes up. looking out for Amazonian fauna from our boat, always with the assistance of one of our experienced naturalist guides. Once you are in Puerto Maldonado airport you will board the plane.

DAY 7: SACRED VALLE TOUR
PISAC
The tour to the Sacred Valley starts At 7:30 am, where our tourist transport will pick you up from your hotel, and then start our adventure through the mountains on the way to Pisac. On the way, you will make some stops, where we will be able to take pictures and appreciate the sacred valley of the Incas from a beautiful touristic viewpoint.
Once in Pisac, you can visit its archaeological center: full of terraces and temples; and of course its artisan market.
URUBAMBA
Afterward, you will go through the Sacred Valley to the town of Urubamba, where you will stop to take our lunch in a beautiful tourist restaurant, trying different types of dishes and unique flavors that can only offer you a great buffet lunch.

DAY 8: MACHU PICCHU TOUR
Early in the morning after breakfast (According to the time entrance ticket to Machu Picchu) the tour leader will come to the hotel and take you to take the bus toward Machu Picchu Inca city. You will travel for 30 minutes until you reach Machu Picchu Control. It is important to carry the original Passport since the tickets to Machu Picchu are personal.
Kantu Peru tours will give you a unique experience in Machu Picchu because our tour leaders will be patients when you visit this new wonder of the world. You will have time to take some pictures of the classic view. Then, you have a guided tour for about two hours, visiting the most important temples and sectors from Machu Picchu.

FROM CUSCO TO VINICUNCA RAINBOW MOUNTAIN

Once the group is ready the great adventure will start in the direction of Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain. You travel by car for 2 hours approx in our tourist transport until arriving in the community of Cusipata. Here, you enjoy a delicious breakfast before continuing with the tour.
Continuing the Rainbow Mountain Tour, The car leaves the main road to take the dirt road for 45 minutes more. During the trip, you can observe beautiful landscapes, canyons, and beautiful glaciers as The Ausangate Glacier (The biggest of the Cusco region).
THE HIKE
Once you arrive at the final stop for the van, the group starts hiking for 1.5 hours approx. The time is average and It depends on sure of your speed but no worries you will hike at your rhythm.
After having a nice hike to the Rainbow Mountain Cusco, You finally arrive at the destination:
The Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain (5.020m / 16.466 ft.). Once the group is together again, you have all the information about this beautiful attraction provided by our very knowledgeable tour guide. After that, you have free time to enjoy the beauty of the mountain on your own, take pictures, enjoy a snack, or just relax.
After enjoying Rainbow Mountain which is one of the best Day Trips From Cusco, The Group starts the walk back to the parking and then to the community of Cusipata. Here, you have a delicious lunch and then return to the imperial city of Cusco.

DAY 10: HUMANTAY LAKE TOUR ITINERARY
FROM CUSCO TO HUMANTAY
The Humantay Lake tour starts at 04:00 am approx from Cusco, depending on your hotel location the pickup time will be quite different.
Once the group is ready the great adventure will start in the direction of Humantay Lake. You travel by car for 2 hours approx in our tourist transport until arriving in the community of Mollepata. Here, you enjoy a delicious breakfast before continuing with the tour.
Continuing the Humantay Lake Tour, The car leaves the main road to take the dirt road for 1 hour more. During the trip, you can observe beautiful landscapes, canyons, cloud forest, and beautiful glaciers as The Salkantay Glacier (The second biggest glacier of the Cusco region).
HUMANTAY LAKE HIKE
Once you arrive at the final stop for the van, the group starts hiking for 1.5 hours more approx. The time is average and It depends on sure of your speed but no worries you will hike at your rhythm. The hike is a little bit more step than the Rainbow Mountain Tour, so try to have many stops in order to don’t get tired easily.
Upon reaching the incredible Humantay turquoise Lake, All the group will have the information from the Tour Guide and free time to explore more the place, an approximate 40 minutes will remain before getting back to the parking.
After 1 hour you get lunch in the same restaurant as in the morning. As the hike demands a lot of effort, the lunch is Buffet in order to recover all the energy lost in the hike.

WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT ALTITUDE SICKNESS?
Cusco city is located in a considerable elevation, Rainbow mountain is located over 16 thousand feet, so many people start feeling some altitude sickness. Therefore, we advise you to visit your doctor to prescribe medicine for the altitude.
CAN I CLIMB HUAYNAPICCHU AND MACHU PICCHU MOUNTAIN?
Yes, you can. To climb Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu mountains there is a limit, only 400 hundred people can climb Huaynapicchu and 800 hundred people can climb Machu Picchu mountain per day. Therefore, when you book the tour, you have to be sure about it. Because the reservations for either mountain must be several months in advance. There is an extra fee of 20 dollars to book one mountain.
You are not going to get the ticket for both mountains in Aguas Calientes town, at the last minute.
