Social Projects

KANTU PERU TOURS is convinced that tourism can and must be a road towards the development of Peru, we will continue to act as good Peruvians and seek to improve the welfare of our country, especially for its neediest citizens. Through our company, we renew the commitment to Peru and its future. We participate actively in the development of the small Andean communities in which culture, education and equal opportunity for development are accessible to all. To promote access to culture, education and equal opportunity and to foster inclusive and self-sustainable development project in communities where tourism-related opportunities exist. As a part of our mission here at KANTU PERU TOURS we believe in giving back to the community, our company enjoyed Christmas festivities in the Taucca community; we hoped we bought happiness and joy in this special season to all the children of the community. Sharing with sincere affection the traditional cake ‘Paneton’ and a cup of hot chocolate, the whole family of KANTU PERU TOURS participated.

Looking at the smiles of all the children and their very grateful parents, makes us continue visiting communities each year at Christmas and we hope we brighten a little the lives of these families.

Kantu Weaving Center

KANTU WEAVING CENTER is a family initiative that was born in early 2014 through the creation of a textile center in the district of Chinchero in Cusco, Peru. Our first objective was to have a space for the families in our community to exhibit the fine artistic beauty of Andean weavings, in this case the best of Chinchero, already known throughout Cusco and world-wide for their magnificent quality, as well as the opportunity to sell their goods on the market and generate some income for the people of these rural areas. A centre where anyone can come to learn about the techniques, processes, materials, elaboration, the coloring and dyes, and final steps of this handmade art from the master weavers themselves. In addition, a cultural space that supports the recovery and preservation of ancestral traditions of Andean communities to be shared with the world. With the purpose of helping the economy of these families, under principles of protection, revaluation and preservation of our Andean customs, KANTU WEAVING CENTER, has been working until these days independently, receiving tourists from other travel agencies and free tourists, But always with the support and supervision of KANTU PERU TOURS.
